Martin HD-28E Standard Series Acoustic-electric Guitar with Fishman Aura VT Enhance Electronics - Natural Aged Toner

The HD-28 is the herringbone Dreadnought — the vintage-appointed, pre-war-inspired acoustic that carries nearly a century of acoustic music history in its spruce and rosewood grain. The HD-28E is that same guitar, ready to take the stage. The Interstellar Tone Traveler knows that some instruments are built for the room and some are built for the universe — and what separates the HD-28E from its purely acoustic sibling is the confidence to perform anywhere without compromise. Everything that defines the HD-28 is present and accounted for: bold herringbone top inlay, forward-shifted GE-scalloped X-bracing with the 2025 Standard Series refinements, solid Sitka spruce over East Indian rosewood back and sides, Diamonds and Squares Long abalone fingerboard inlay on ebony, and the Zig-Zag back purfling that reaches back to the pre-war archive with quiet authority. The aging toner gloss top and 25.4" scale length deliver the projective, full-spectrum Dreadnought voice — strong bass, clear trebles, and rich overtones — that has defined this model for generations of serious players. What the "E" adds is the freedom to perform without boundaries. The Fishman Aura VT system uses Aura Imaging technology to recreate the acoustic properties of a high-quality studio microphone pickup, delivering an amplified voice that remains faithful to the organic character of the HD-28 rather than translating it into something artificial and compressed. Where a standard under-saddle pickup simply reads string vibration, the Aura VT interprets the whole instrument — giving the front-of-house mix the depth, warmth, and presence that the HD-28E produces acoustically. The reimagined GE Modified Low Oval neck profile, thinner fingerboard, and refined bridge and heel from the 2025 refresh ensure this guitar plays as effortlessly as it sounds, and the antique white binding, bone bridge pins with faux tortoise dots, and nickel open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs complete an instrument that honors its vintage heritage every time it steps under the lights.
