Mesa Boogie Subway WD-800 Head

You spoke. We tuned in across the cosmos. The call for a more powerful evolution of the legendary WalkAbout™ Bass Head echoed through the universe — and we listened. Introducing the WD-800™, a hybrid powerhouse that fuses the soulful warmth of the WalkAbout’s tube preamp with the cutting-edge Class D output from our acclaimed Subway® Series (D-800™ & D-800+™). The result? A lightweight, high-performance bass head that delivers stellar tone and gravitational pull. The WD-800™ captures the iconic round, fat tone of the original WalkAbout™ and launches it into a new dimension with comprehensive rotary shelving EQ and a semi-parametric midrange section. Sculpt your sound with galactic precision — from deep-space lows to shimmering highs — thanks to enhanced tone-shaping controls that put you in command of the sonic universe. Whether you're replacing your aging starship (aka heavy linear amp) or seeking a portable, pro-level rig for daily missions (gigs and recording), the WD-800™ delivers interstellar tone in a compact, rack-mountable (2U) chassis. Optional rack ears make it space-station ready. Not just a WalkAbout. Not just a Subway. The WD-800™ is a fusion of two legendary galaxies — engineered to deliver massive tone, advanced control, and ultra-light portability. It’s everything you asked for, packed into a super-responsive, space-saving design that’s ready to launch your tone into orbit.
