Duesenberg Fairytale Split/King Lapsteel - Ivory & Black

Welcome to the next evolutionary leap in lapsteel design. The Duesenberg Fairytale Split/King Edition is not just an instrument—it’s a spacecraft engineered for sonic exploration. Built for players who refuse to choose between worlds, this is the most advanced lapsteel Duesenberg has ever launched. At the heart of the Fairytale Split/King lies a breakthrough pickup design that redefines duality. The Split/King pickupis not a typical split humbucker. Instead, it houses a true, full-size singlecoil that stands on its own—extended by a precisely tuned secondary coil to form a real humbucker when engaged. No compromises. No simulations. Just pure singlecoil clarity or full humbucker power, instantly available with the flick of a switch. Two galaxies. One pickup. The best of both worlds. Navigate tone like a pilot at the helm. The Fairytale Split/King features Duesenberg’s genuine Speed-Pot tone control, operating on a reduced 70° sweep. Designed for fingertip precision, it allows effortless tone swells and subtle shifts—perfect for dynamic passages and expressive flight paths. Bend time. Bend pitch. Bend reality. The integrated Duesenberg Multibender Bridge System is a user-configurable string-bending device capable of harmonic up- and down-bends, controlled with the heel of your hand while you play. Change chords from minor to major mid-phrase. Create pedal-steel-like movement. Warp melodies in real time. Supports up to five independent levers Each lever can be configured for semi- or full-tone bends Additional levers available separately The integrated Easy-Shift Capo makes changing keys on a lapsteel effortless. Simply loosen the thumbscrew, slide it to your destination, and lock it in. The capo runs on a hidden internal rail, meaning it’s always exactly where you need it—never lost, never misplaced. Every component of the Fairytale Split/King reflects Duesenberg’s relentless pursuit of innovation. From the revolutionary pickup architecture to the expressive bending system and precision controls, this lapsteel is built for players who explore beyond the known tonal universe.
