Mesa Boogie Mark Five:25 Head and 1x12 Cab - Wine Taurus Wicker Grille

The Interstellar Tone Traveler has always believed that the most dangerous amplifiers come in the smallest packages — and the Mesa/Boogie Mark Five:25 is living proof of that truth. This is not a practice amp wearing a boutique badge. This is the complete, uncompromised lineage of the Mark Series — from the original cascading preamp of the Mark I that introduced the world to high gain, through the Mark IIC+'s legendary tonal authority, the Mark IV's channel-switching sophistication, and the Mark V's full-blown preamp museum — distilled into a 25-watt, EL84-powered head that weighs 16.5 lbs and fits on a nightstand. The Mark Five:25 doesn't approximate those sounds. It carries them. Two channels and six modes deliver a greatest hits collection of Mesa's most celebrated preamp circuits, and the EL84 power section adds its own distinctive character to the formula — brighter, tighter, more chime in the top end, more clip-able and tactile than its 6L6-powered siblings, with a feel that rewards aggressive playing and rewards subtlety in equal measure. This is a guitar amplifier that roars like a lion and sneaks in like a mouse. The matching 1x12 mini Rectifier Straight Cabinet is no afterthought — built from void-free Marine Grade Baltic Birch with rabbet corners, dado-jointed speaker baffle, and separately wrapped grille board, it is a cabinet constructed with the same obsessive quality that defines every piece of Mesa hardware. Slightly more focused in the bass and more balanced across the full frequency range than the standard Rectifier 1x12, it pairs with the Mark Five:25 head to create a rig that punches far beyond its physical footprint. This particular pairing arrived dressed beautifully: custom Wine Taurus covering in a rich, deep burgundy with Wicker Grilles that bring a warm, natural contrast — elegant, refined, and immediately distinctive on any stage or in any studio. In excellent condition and ready for its next mission. Condition Notes: Pre-owned in excellent condition. Plays and presents beautifully throughout. Both head and cabinet show minimal signs of use and are in excellent working order.
